The Key to Weight Loss: Don’t Sacrifice Taste
(ARA) – Low-carb mania is sweeping the country as the latest dietary and weight-loss trend. From women’s magazines to leading chain restaurants, low-carb menu options are everywhere. But in our efforts to lose weight, we shouldn’t have to give up good-tasting food.
“Nothing undermines a weight-loss plan more than the distressing sensation that you need more food or are sacrificing taste and variety,” says Litehouse Foods Executive Chef Tony Merola. “Don’t be afraid to have some dip with your vegetables or a little dressing on your salad.”
Most health experts will tell you trendy diets that only focus on one kind of food don’t work over the long term. The most effective way to lose weight is by committing to a real lifestyle change, one that emphasizes exercise and a balanced diet that limits the serving size of all foods, including those that contain fat or carbs.
The best way to maintain good eating habits is to make sure you enjoy what you eat. Add some flavor to your meals with an alternative like Litehouse Foods salad dressings, which are made with 100 percent heart-healthy canola oil, an unsaturated fat that is the only plant food rich in Omega 3 fatty acid (a good fat). The dressings also have no preservatives or MSG and are gluten free.
If you’re watching your carbs, Litehouse One Carb Plus dressings can add a tasty zing to your recipes and have only 1 carb gram for each two tablespoon serving. The following is one idea for a healthy and tasty salad using a flavorful dressing:
